The Theatre Production Guide will enable teachers to facilitate their students learning and development through a step by step process which can be used to aid in the learning and use strategies to complete a production of any kind through individual sheets or teacher pull out sheets which can guide a group as a whole to aid their potential or raise attainment. It can be used as part of Drama or English.

I have witnessed pupils using the Theatre Production Guide and find that they are more able to understand the process involved in putting on a performance. The pupils learn about the characterisation involved, scene by scene breakdown, form & structure, conventions and all backstage (set design, properties, costume, makeup/hair, lighting, sound and sound effects) aspects through sheets for each area and teacher pull out sheets which can guide a group as a whole to aid their potential or even raise attainment. The guide is to help in scaffolding a performance. The sheets can be printed in colour to make a unit like this more accessible and fun for the pupils.

Their skills increase as they work in pairs or groups as they will have to discuss each area and complete the necessary sheets, helping in their cooperation skills, listening skills and communication skills. You can even add your own sheets.
