As the resource is organised under topic heading, the vocabulary sheets can be incorporated into any stage of teaching a modular or linear exam course, and can be employed effectively with a variety of techniques.

The vocabulary can be used in the following way:

• To present a new topic, for example daily routine.
• To extend a topic previously covered at a basic level, for example a discussion on healthy eating could result from teaching a range of vocabulary about food.
• To support or offer greater scope to a topic from a course textbook, especially for more able pupils.
• The resource can be used as an aide-memoir when revising topics and key phrases for the Writing exam.
• As learning home works these sheets are ideal, as vocabulary can be memorised in manageable amounts.
• For ICT purposes, they can support the word-processing or written coursework tasks.
• To be used as a basis for preparing conversation questions, presentations or transactional role-plays for the Speaking exam.
• Two sheets can be used together to compliment each other, for example TV and Cinema with Excuses and invitations.
• They are ideal for pairs or group work, and for use by a Foreign Language Assistant working in conjunction with the class teacher.
• They provide a valuable revision guide for enhancing the four language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
• To promote individual study and independent learning, the sheets provide a checklist for covering the range of topics required by exam boards at this level.
