These themed resource packs of wide-ranging classroom activities have plenty of suggestions for a variety of activities exploring numerous matters concerning young teenagers today e.g. Racism, Violence, Relationship Issues, Homelessness, War.

There are plenty of suggestions for a variety of activities exploring numerous matters concerning young teenagers today, such as the morality of war and sibling relationship issues. There are many opportunities for reflective writing, discussion and exploration through drama of difficult and sometimes upsetting themes.

For the teacher it will help take all the hassle and stress out of lesson planning because everything they will need for a whole body of class coursework is contained in one pack. There are comprehensions, grammar and dictionary exercises for use in class, suggestions for sustained writing tasks and cross curricular links, as well as resource sheets. Teaching Objectives from the KS3 National Strategy Framework are given for each lesson/worksheet and a complete Medium Term Planning Sheet is included to facilitate forward lesson planning.

For the pupils, there are ample opportunities to work as a class, in small groups, pairs or individually. Tasks based on the text include pre reading activities, research, discussion, drama and debate, character logging, personal and reflective writing, and more formal writing activities.

This resource is written for both the teacher and the student in that there are both teaching notes and suggestions for classroom activities as well as tasks which can be given directly to the student as a worksheet. The teacher is able to adapt these resources to their own needs.
