Shakespeare's Sonnets is an innovative tool that uses technology to investigate the structure, meaning and imagery of Shakespeare's sonnets. Sonnet 18 is examined in detail. The flexibility provided by the PowerPoint presentation allows colour, movement and audio to be used in a creative manner to fathom the layers of meaning in how a sonnet sounds and appears.
A comparative approach is then taken allowing the progression of ideas and concepts within the cannon of sonnets to be examined and evaluated. A third sonnet then allows students to take this approach further utilising the activity sheets that come with the presentation.
