Population and Settlement Book 1 deals with basic concepts, theories, issues and models. It contains basic notes, definitions and facts on all the major issues, with exercises and questions to reinforce and extend the student's knowledge on a particular topic.
The majority of the worksheets are self-contained; apart from the occasional use of an atlas no further text book is necessary for the student to gain a good grasp of the subject matter. There is also an emphasis on the comparison between MEDCs and LEDCs which seem to be so important in Geography today.

This is intended to enable the student to build up a detailed picture of two specific parts of the world rather than a surface knowledge of many different places.
