This is a fully editable world map for use in Microsoft Publisher. Every country (apart from small states or islands) is outlined and filled with the country’s flag. This can simply be printed as an effective inspirational and informative resource or can be used for a range of teacher-led or pupil-led activities in Geography, History and Citizenship. This resource can be used throughout the Key Stages. At a time when teaching and learning is often most effective when using ICT, the editable world map will be revolutionary in a number of ways – not least in reintroducing the knowledge of location – a skill which has greatly diminished in recent years. For instance, the map can be edited to show a range of themes like countries with the same language, any statistics from the data section of an atlas, even things like the British Empire, religions, and global organisations like the U.N., NATO and sporting events such as the Olympics or World Cup. Also, the outline of the countries could be used in order for the resource to become an ideal digitally editable choropleth map. Also, as it is in Publisher certain sections can with a photograph from that country or, to provide a simple record of the countries an individual has visited or, the countries represented by the nationalities of the pupils in your school.
