'Monologues' has been designed for the young performer to develop their skills at acquiring, interpreting, sustaining and delivering a character. It consists of three distinct units; 'Adolescent Monologues', 'Australian Monologues' and 'Shakespearean Monologues'.

'Adolescent Monologues' deal with contemporary concerns and issues that young adolescents may be facing. The task, then, is to imagine the character that may be in that situation or predicament and convey the personality, mood and feeling of that person to an audience. 'Australian Monologues' reflect a time and tradition associated with a particular period and culture and will require a performer to research to truly appreciate the context. 'Shakespearean Monologues' are the pinnacle of a performer's skill requiring an awareness of language, imagery and delivery.

Monologues are often seen as the foundation of developing as an actor. Once this challenge is faced and the fundamentals of character are achieved, an actor can go on to performing in conjunction with other characters and developing more complex and intricate scenes.
