Learning and Teaching Aids to meet the needs of the ICT National Curriculum
This DiDA resource contains a 120 page A4 book plus a CD-ROM with over 100 files, which has been verified by curriculum online. The first of eight sections provides students with project planning software, which can be used to add task descriptions; time scales; record changes; and produce evaluations. The second section contains: an e-portfolio, which can be used to demonstrate good examples during lessons. Section 3, 4 and 5 provides teacher and student guidance notes; commentaries; design work (e.g. storyboards, annotations); and step-by-step instructions with screen shots to show evidence of implementation for 12 main tasks. To produce successful e-portfolios students need to provide evidence in some of the following areas: Questionnaires; Data Capture Forms; Spreadsheet Work; Database Work; Mail Merge; Presentation Work, Desktop Publishing Work; E-mail & Communication; Website Design (Dreamweaver). All these areas are covered throughout the book and tasks are carefully designed to cater for all abilities as they provide basic, intermediate and advanced examples in a range of software programs. Section 6 gives examples of other supporting evidence, which is needed in addition to the tasks students produce. Examples include: Research Collection & Manipulation; Primary and Secondary References; and a User Guide for the assessor(s). Section 7 provides you with an extensive set of templates that can be used to show examples of how to set out spreadsheet and database designs, testing plans, storyboard designs, and many more. These can be a valuable aid for lower ability students, to promote ideas and give extra guidance. Section 8 identifies how the tasks match what students need to learn. Each piece of evidence given in the book or on CD-ROM can be linked to the assessment criteria sections set out be Edexcel. They include: 1.1 Using Information Sources; 1.2 Using Surveys; 1.3 Information Handling; 1.4 Working with Information; 1.5 Presenting Information; 1.6 Paper Publications; and 1.7 On Screen Publications. This extensive resource will enhance your knowledge of the DiDA course whilst minimising your planning and preparation time.
