This resource presents twenty-five graded pieces for classroom and/or orchestral tuned percussion instruments, and is the natural follow-on to the access resource Xylo-Mix.
The work is especially prepared for teachers and their students who have enjoyed using classroom tuned percussion instruments, and who now need to be using more challenging pieces, which will enable young players to strive for excellence using either classroom or orchestral instruments, as appropriate to the demands of the graded piece.
The pieces feature folk and classical music together with new pieces in a popular style, and are grouped in fives, with five pieces at each of the grades 1-5.
All the pieces have written piano accompaniments, and each individual percussion part is offered with and without note names, for ease of use in a classroom environment.
In the section on assessment procedures, there are five ready-to-use worksheets for each of the grades 1-5. These worksheets define in detail the requirements at each grade, and include statements of levels of achievement for the use of teacher and student alike. The assessment worksheets are designed so as to require the minimum of paperwork by the teacher.
NB: The five levels of difficulty (grades) are at or around those of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)
This resource is suitable for students aged around 12 to 16 years, and may be used very flexibly as required.
Once purchased, the CD can be freely copied and networked throughout the school.
