OFSTED want to see more evidence of effective teaching and learning in schools. There are many ways to achieve this but the following Framework provides the means of developing teaching and learning, improving the standards of teaching and learning within your school, and achieving success in the eyes of OFSTED via good practice. The Formative Assessment Learning Framework provides a comprehensive means of differentiation, peer, and self-assessment for popular modules covered in Key Stage 3 History. Teachers will have the opportunity to implement peer, and self-assessment, and differentiation at any point enriching standards of teaching and learning at Key Stage 3. The Framework provides differentiated expectations tables, peer and self-assessment grids and detailed guidelines for popular modules covered at Key Stage 3. These include World War I and II, the Assassination of JFK, the Making of the UK, Expansion, Trade and Industry, Medieval Realms, An Introduction to History, the Romans, and Black Peoples of the Americas. All are deconstructed to provide students the opportunity for peer, and self-assessment at three different, differentiated levels of learning. Expectations tables are provided to guide teachers through every module, effectively providing a differentiated scheme of objectives. Detailed guidance discusses how the Framework can be modified to suit your needs within the department. The expectations tables also provide teachers with the opportunity to implement new modules if they wish.
